On Saturday, August 25, 2018, the Union County officials were sworn in before officially taken office on September 4th. Their friends and family, as well as the general public, filled the commons area at Union County High School to witness the ceremony. For some this ceremony marks a new chapter in their life and for others it is a continuing of their legacy and service to Union County and its citizens. All officers took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the State of Tennessee and the Constitution of the United States to the best of their ability with God's help.

Officiating the ceremony was the Honorable Judge Darryl W. Edmondson. Opening with the pledge of allegiance was Randy Turner and a word of prayer was lead by Reverend Mike Viles.

Newly elected County Mayor Jason Bailey was the first official to take the oath of office. Followed by reelected Sheriff Billy Breeding and his Deputies and many more officials. After all had taken an oath of office and filled out the necessary paperwork there was a meet and greet with the public and refreshments were provided.
