Corum Bookkeeping wins BPA golf tourney
UCBPA President Tammie Hill awards Corum Bookkeeping Service First Place in the UCBPA Scholarship Benefit Golf Classic of 2024.
Union County Business & Professional Association hosted the 2024 Scholarship Benefit Golf Classic on June 15 at Three Ridges Golf Course.
Golfers enjoyed a complimentary lunch by Lil Jo's BBQ. Eight teams competed for the top prizes. Corum Bookkeeping Services was the tournament champion. The City of Plainview team was second and Union County Education Association took third.
A delighted nine-year-old Gavin Thomas, who played with his dad, uncle, and grandpa on the Thomas Waterproofing team won second place for Closest to the Pin. Gavin received a certificate to play four rounds of golf and a free cart at Three Ridges Golf Course. Winning the Closest to the Pin and receiving four free rounds of golf with a cart at Dead Horse Lake Golf Course in Knox County was Jeff Winterberger of UC Education Association (UCEA).
Collins Insurance sponsored the Putting Contest. Zach Goodin of UCEA won first place and Holden Headrick of Plainview took second place. All players received a free round of golf at Three Ridges and a goody bag of snacks and promotional items from Food City, Flowers Bakeries, Tammie Hill Realty Executives Associates, First Century Bank, FirstBank and UC Extension Agent Shannon DeWitt.
Pepsi Company of Knoxville, Cherokee Distributing, Eagle Distributing, and Cumberland Gap Distributors provided the drinks. Food City and UCEA were event sponsors. Proceeds benefit UCBPA Charities, Inc., to award scholarships annually to deserving seniors for their post-high school education. To date, UCBPA has awarded over $140,000 to 146 graduates.
