Cops in Court training held at LMU

Law enforcement officers at Cops in Court training

On July 23, the Office of District Attorney General Jared Effler and the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference hosted “Cops in Court” on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate.
Cops in Court is a training which focuses on driving under the influence (DUI) investigations and courtroom testimony. The following agencies participated in this training: Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, Caryville Police Department, Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, Fentress County Sheriff’s Office, Jacksboro Police Department, LaFollette Police Department, Lincoln Memorial University Police Department, Plainview Police Department, Tazewell Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Union County Sheriff’s Office.
District Attorney General Jared Effler stated: “The officers who completed this training are to be commended for their commitment to improving public safety by ridding our roadways of impaired drivers. The knowledge obtained through the Cops in Court training will undoubtedly enable these officers to investigate and prosecute DUI cases in a more effective manner.”
