Congressman Tim Burchett voiced many concerns at BPA meeting

Congressman Tim Burchett spoke at the Union County Business & Professional Association Meeting last month.
He had just returned from the US - Mexican border and had witnessed the plight of the immigrants who come across the border. He described the conditions as deplorable and talked about how many of the children seemed to be scared and confused.
He related that he had personally spoken some comforting words to a small child in an effort to relieve some of her anxiety. Burchett related the need to overhaul the immigration policy and the hope that many of the immigrants could have good paying jobs in their own country through a partnership with US companies investing in marketing bananas and other Mexico-produced products in the United States.
Burchett expressed little hope for compromise by the two political parties regarding any major issues. He said the debt ceiling and the economy are constant issues.
He also remarked that China is definitely a threat to the US economy and security. He stated that surveillance balloons have no business traveling across our military installations and energy resources. He ended his remarks by asking everyone to pray for our country.
