Chiropractic and Professional Baseball and Football

Chiropractic’s integration into professional sports medical teams has resulted in the creation of the Professional Baseball Chiropractic Society (PBCS). The first annual PBCS workshop was held in March 2015. Many of the team chiropractors in Major League Baseball were in attendance as well as a few from Minor League Baseball. This first seminar even included a surprise visit from former MLB manager Joe Torre, who took some time to address those in attendance on how beneficial chiropractic was not only to him, but also to the players on the teams he managed.

The acceptance of chiropractic in baseball has come a very long way in just a few short years. Chiropractors have become integral parts of almost every major league team’s medical staff, working collaboratively with team trainers and team physicians.

The Professional Football Chiropractic Society (PFCS) is an organization of chiropractors who provide the highest quality chiropractic health care to the elite athletes of professional football.

The PFCS hosts a 12-hour chiropractic continuing education (CE) seminar for chiropractors interested in getting more involved in sports chiropractic. By meeting in Indianapolis each year, they are able to get football team personnel to serve as speakers and make guest appearances.

Their efforts serve not only to help each chiropractor working with his or her respective professional team, but also those involved with minor league, collegiate, high school or even youth sports programs.
