Chicken bake
Yes, here is another chicken recipe. chicken is so versatile. add some noodles and gravy and you have a tasty casserole.
8 ounces medium noodles, cook, drained
1/2 cup butter, divided
3 1/2 cups milk, divided
1/4 cup plain flour
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Two 10 3/4 ounce cans chicken gravy or 2 1/2 cups
4 cups diced cooked chicken
2 tablespoons canned chopped pimiento
Bread crumb topping
In mixing bowl, place 3 tablespoons butter and 1 cup milk. In Dutch oven, melt remaining butter. Blend in flour, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper. Add remaining milk all at once. Cook, quickly, over medium high heat until mixture thickens and is bubbly. Add chicken gravy, diced chicken, pimiento and cooked noodles. Mix. Spread mixture in a 9 by 13 inch baking dish. Cover with Bread Topping and bake at 350 F. for 25 minutes.
For Bread Crumb Topping, combine 1/2 cup fine bread crumbs with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Blend in 1/2 cup shredded Velveeta cheese. Sprinkle topping on casserole. Bake 20 minutes. Serves 8 generously.
