Call for Volunteers

The Union County Lions Club is looking for people with the Volunteer Spirit! They have two big public events coming up this year!

On Saturday March 29 at 5:00, the Lions will serve a FREE Spaghetti dinner for anyone who would like to attend. Volunteers are needed to help the Lions serve the spaghetti, salad, and dessert and to keep things organized and moving. Would you like to be at the Union County High School Commons Room to help and see our community friends? Great! Contact Debbie Sylvia-Gardner, and she’ll fill you in. Call/text 865-603-5081 or email Debbie at SylviaDebbie@iCloud.com But hurry. That day is almost here.

And BIG news! The Lions Club Vision Van is coming to Maynardville! On Saturday, May 10th, the volunteers of the Lions Club will be providing free eye exams and glasses to all who cannot afford them! But we need volunteers to help the folks coming through! People must be greeted, registered, have their blood pressure and medical information recorded, guided through the various stations, fitted with frames, and checked out. On-the-job training!! Interested??? Great!! Contact Jim McFarland by phone or text at 865-556-9091 or by email at TnLionJim@aol.com. He will get your contact information for volunteering only. Information on registering for an appointment for the FREE eye exams and glasses will be in future editions of this paper. Stay tuned!

Please do volunteer to assist your Union County Lions Club and help our neighbors! Volunteer for one or both of the upcoming events! See you there.
