Call for Heritage Fest Art Show submissions, festival vendors

The Union County Heritage Festival Art Show will take place during the October 1 event at the Myers Building (formerly Byrd Funeral Home) at 502 Monroe Street in Maynardville. Parking will be available at the lot across from the art show or at the courthouse. On festival day, parking is also available at Wilson Park where visitors can ride the big yellow bus free shuttle sponsored by State Farm Insurance and Plainview City to the art show.
The show is a juried mixed-media exhibition open to artists 18 years of age and above. The exhibition is intended to showcase artwork produced throughout our area. There is no entry fee. Cash awards and ribbons will be given for Best Heritage, Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in two-dimensional works, three-dimensional works, and photography. Ribbons will be given to Honorable Mentions. The registration form is available at www.unioncountyheritagefestival.com.
Guidelines:
• All work must be original to the artist in idea, design and production
• All work must not have been shown in a previous Union County Heritage Festival Art Show
• All two-dimensional work must be framed or stretched (as appropriate) and wired to hang. Work not wired to hang may be exempted from the show.
• Photography must be a minimum of 8”x10”. Matting and framing are encouraged but not required for photography. However, framed or stretched work tends to place higher.
• A maximum of three pieces will be accepted from each artist. Entries composed of multiple pieces must represent a single image that cannot be considered or sold separately
• A signed, completed entry form must be submitted with artwork.
• Each piece of art work must have the artist name, phone number, title of the work, value of the work, and price of the work if it is offered for sale attached to the back.
• All work must be left in the show until the close of the show at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 1.
Delivery and Pick Up
All work must be delivered to the Myers Building (formerly Byrd Funeral Home), 502 Monroe Street, Maynardville, on Wednesday, September 28, from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM. All work must be picked-up on Saturday, October 1st, between the hours. of 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. If you need special pick-up arrangements call Betty prior to the show at 865-992-1005 or email. Professional Artists may also exhibit and offer works for sale in the Exhibit Area during the event.
Event Schedule
September 28, Wednesday – Deliver art noon to 3 p.m.
September 29 – Early Viewing and Meet the Artist Reception 5 to 7 p.m.
October 1 – Art Show 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pick up art 4 to 5 p.m.
