Be intentional in 2020
In what feels like the blink of an eye, another day, another year, another decade has passed. In 2019, Union County has seen many changes, renovations and positive intentions. As 2020 proceeds, be grateful and intentional in the things you do.
At the beginning of the year, often we are swept up into the “New Year, New Me” motif. Many goals and resolutions are set for the upcoming year. The upcoming days being looked upon as a new slate. Days to start fresh with a clean outlook.
It takes a highly motivated person to keep these resolutions firmly all year, however, if more of these intentions were set from a realist’s point of view, would they be more attainable, and provide more encouragement all in all?
Goals are motivational, and when they are met, it is significant in lifting one’s spirit and self-confidence. This year, set aside some time to reflect—think about things you truly enjoyed and remember vividly from 2019. Think of things, actions and people that you wish influenced your life more. Brainstorm ways you would like to volunteer or help in making your community an even greater place. Remember those that you lost in the past year, and let that influence your time spent with those you love the most.
Be intentional. Be sure. Be happy. Be the best version of you and help others be their best too. Surround yourself with positive thinkers and let them inspire you.
Read a book about something you love. Take up a new hobby. Organize your closet. Go to the gym. Eat the cake. Dance in the kitchen. Buy the shoes. Get back in church. Pray for someone every day.
Life is short. Deeply reflect on your inner self. Strive to be the person you wish to be. Make self care a priority.
Actions speaks loudly, so act out of intention. Be a person that inspires others or who always has a smile. Be someone’s encouragement, because if we can’t love ourselves and all that we are blessed with, how can we truly share with others a deep love for family, friends, neighbors, and our Lord.
