Baked bacon

Picture this: You take a package of bacon from the fridge, open it and work to separate the slices (That is not easy to do since the bacon is cold..) Then you carefully lay each slice in the skillet and set the heat to medium. Do the slices remain flat? Of course not. You fuss over them until you have cooked them to the desired crispness. Then you throw out the drippings and fry the rest of the bacon. There is a better way. It's easier, too. Use the oven. This is the way restaurants get those nice flat straight slices they serve on their burgers.

Baked bacon
Preheat oven to 350 F. Lay the separated bacon strips on a sheet of parchment paper on a shallow baking sheet. Place on middle rack in oven. In 5 to 10 minutes the bacon is evenly cooked, flat and straight. Fora different flavor, sprinkle some brown sugar over the the bacon before baking. Delicious.
