American Rescue Plan grants available for arts in East Tennessee

Up to $2,750,000 is available for Individual Artists and Arts & Culture Centered Nonprofit Organizations in 12 East Tennessee counties.
The Arts & Culture Alliance (ACA) is pleased to announce American Rescue Plan Recovery and Renewal Grants, a federal funding program made possible through the City of Knoxville, Knox County, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Distributed through the Arts & Culture Alliance, American Rescue Plan grants provide support for day-to-day operations for local nonprofit arts and culture organizations and project support to individual artists and nonprofit arts and culture organizations.
Awards for Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Pickett, Roane, Scott, Sevier, and Union county nonprofits and individual artists range from $500 to $15,000. Awards for the City of Knoxville and Knox County nonprofit arts organizations will range from $1,000 to $40,000 for projects and programs taking place July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
The grants are designed to aid East Tennessee’s pandemic recovery by supporting local jobs, boosting tourism, stimulating the local economy, activating neighborhoods and conducting education programs, specifically targeting K-12 students in underserved communities to help them regain ground lost during the pandemic. Arts and culture projects that provide opportunities within communities historically underserved and/or disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and local neighborhoods are encouraged.
“We are so grateful to Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon and the National Endowment for the Arts for their generosity,” says Liza Zenni, Executive Director. “They recognize the essential role the local arts and culture industry plays in aiding our communities’ recovery and sparking a renewal of Greater Knoxville’s healthy and robust spirit.”
The application receipt deadline is midnight Friday, April 15, 2022. Applicants are strongly encouraged to speak with Liza Zenni, Executive Director of the Arts & Culture Alliance, prior to applying.
