Ag Committee Welcomes New Members

The UT Extension Agricultural Committee is set to meet on November 6th to welcome new members. UT Extension is an off-campus division of the UT Institute of Agriculture. Extension is a statewide educational organization, funded by federal, state, and local governments, bringing research based information to Tennesseans where they work and live. Information is available in a wide array of categories including Ag and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Economic Development. Agricultural Extension Committees function as representatives of UT Extension as liaison between Extension and County Commission on financial and other matters related to Extension work. Committee members act in an advisory capacity on program formulation and in carrying out programs. The committee is made up of seven members representing different civil districts including three county commissioners, two farmers, and two farm women. Union County is happily represented by the following members: RL Jones, Sidney Jesse Jr, Debra Keck, Trevor Jones, Anthony Malone, Nikki Riddle, and Tina Garcia. Mr. Jesse and Mrs. Keck are new to the committee being recently elected county commissioners, so join us in welcoming them into the Union County Extension family.
