4-H Gives Treats to the Dogs
The Companion Animal and Outdoor Adventures group with the treats they made for the dogs.
The 4-H Companion Animal and Outdoor Adventure groups met together at the Union County Extension Office afterschool for a service project. The December service project was to make dog treats for the animals at the Union County humane Society. 4-Her’s were eager to make oatmeal, banana, and peanut butter flavored treats! Some even took a treat or two home for their dogs to try.
4-H Extension Agent Abigail Thomas delivered the treats to the Humane Society and gave each dog a treat. Every dog was very excited to receive a treat made of love, especially Goose! Goose is a one-and-a-half-year-old Great Pyrenees who contains over 100 pounds of cuddly fluff. He is not a working dog, and prefers a couch to a field. He loves everyone and does well with big and small humans, other dogs, and cats. Goose is available for adoption at the Union County Humane Society.
If you are interested in adopting your newest member of your family, please visit the Union County Humane Society. They are located at 719 Hickory Star Road in Maynardville. Visit them on their website http://www.unioncountyhumanesociety.org or call (865) 992-7969. I would advise any animal lover to visit. Why don’t you check it out for yourself?
