4-H Excels in Preparing Youth to Communicate

The Union County 4-H Demonstration and Interactive Exhibits Contests allows youth to highlight their exceptional presentation abilities in a supportive environment at our Annual Achievement Day. Youth will learn from professionals as well as their fellow 4-H members. Union County 4-H held virtual demonstration and interactive exhibit contests thorough the beginning of 2021. Local contests were held in person and virtually across Union County. Students participating in the local contests were invited to the County-wide contest that was held virtually in recorded videos. The 4-H Achievement Day Contest was held on in May 2021. Each of the following participants were selected as the 1st place winner for their project area. They advanced to the Big Nine Subregional Contest which is the 9 counties surrounding.

Big Nine Subregional Demonstration Results Contest were:
4th Grade – Tyler Jones, Companion Animal Project, 1st place
4th Grade – Breydon Oliver, Engineering/Safety Science, 2nd Place
4th Grade – Emily Powell, Line & Design Project, 4th Place
5th Grade – Silas Whitley, Electric Project, 2nd place
5th Grade- Zeeva Boucher, Photography Project, 2nd Place

Big Nine Subregional Interactive Exhibit Contest were:
6th Grade –Natalie Graves, Food Science Project, 1st Place
7th Grade – Gracie Tindell, Companion Animal Project, 1st Place
8th Grade – Meradeth Whitley, Line and Design, 1st Place

UT Extension Union County would like to congratulate the winners and participants and encourage all 4-12th graders to become involved with our Union County 4-H programs.
