Where is that doll?

The doll was a rare one with a wax head. When properly repaired, dressed and equipped with a new (handmade) wig, the doll would be worth over $300.
But tragedy struck: Mrs. Graves had locked the doll in the trunk of her car and then gone to enjoy the sights of Opryland, USA.

How To Find And Pay For Chiropractic Therapy

Only a licensed chiropractor — a doctor of chiropractic, or DC — should perform chiropractic adjustments. In all 50 states and the district of Columbia, chiropractors must be an accredited DC and pass special state exams, exams administered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, or both, to practice.

In order to become a DC, you have to complete on average three years of undergraduate instruction to be admitted to a program and then four years of training to graduate as a DC.

Pickled Deviled Eggs

Beet juice is the secret here for the pretty pink on these tangy deviled eggs. They are easy to make. Place peeled hard cooked eggs, 6 each, in 2 pint canning jars. Cook first four ingredients in saucepan over medium heat until sugar is melted. Three minutes should do it.

There is a Difference

Have you ever had to attend a boring meeting, where the speaker droned on and on and you could barely stay awake? Possibly this might have been a preacher’s sermon (hopefully not) or a work presentation.

Foxhunting and the Sputnik

“Hat, did you see Sputnik go over then or were you asleep?”
“Heck no, I seed it blinking, same as you.”
Hat was Hat Russell. Hosea was myself, James Perry. All us boys who went to Rose Hill Elementary School together had nicknames. Dan Patch Cooke, Jerry Killer Keller, Hat, Johnny Milton Russell, Jerald Hobock known as Hobock, Howard Wyrick Esquire, Pig Larry Perry, Bobcat Bobby Perry, and Pigtail Dennis Perry. The only boy from our group without a nickname was Wayne Hurst.

Some history and thoughts on Horace Maynard High School

Country Connections By James and Ellen Perry
Horace Maynard (1815-1887) served as council when Union County was formed from five counties with only Knox County offering resistance. In the mid-1850s, there was no town of Maynardville. It was known then as Liberty, Tennessee. The Knox County injunction was resolved in 1855 with the assistance of Horace Maynard. In 1856 the town of Liberty became Maynardville because of the appreciation of the county fathers and citizens.

Why can’t we all get along?

1 Corinthians 1:10-11 KJV
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. [11] For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.
This is part two of a series on 1 Corinthians. Which is Paul’s letter of correction through stern love to a first century church with a lot of problems.

Keith Pierce, missions strategist, explains his approach

I grew up on the Knox County side of the Union County line, which kind of made me a double agent. I went to Halls High School but spent a big part of my life on my Papaw’s farm in Union County, and plenty of time on Norris Lake, mostly at Hickory Star Marina.
I was saved at Milan Baptist Church in Maynardville and later received the call to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I had no idea what I was doing but I made a commitment to God that if He would open the doors, I would go through them. That was several years ago.

Wile E. Coyote cartoon clash

Are you old school about anything?
For me, it’s cartoons. I was fortunate enough to grow up with the classic ones: Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo (original) and Peanuts. Out of these, my favorite is the Looney Tunes series with Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.
My friends in high school were well aware of this fact. If one of them spent a Friday night with me, they knew I would be up early to watch the Coyote and Roadrunner. If they didn’t wake up in time, I would wake them up so they could watch it with me.
