Vacation Bible School coming soon to a church near you

For many children, Vacation Bible School is a summer staple. The Bible stories and learning activities, crafts and songs allow youth to better understand biblical truths as well as continue some type of schedule outside of the school year.
While some families may have a busy summer schedule, there are numerous churches within the community that are opening their doors for all ages to come and learn about a variety of different topics surrounding biblical history and truths.
This year, after a few years away from group activities and events, summer camps and Vacation Bible Schools, many churches in the Union County community are opening their doors to children and adults for VBS.
A common theme that is flowing through the community is “Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose,” by Sparks Studio.
A few of the churches in the community that are participating in a Vacation Bible School are as follows:
Fellowship Christian Church on Tazewell Pike in Luttrell will be hosting their VBS the week of June 6 with a kickoff party on June 4. VBS sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
The theme for Fellowship Christian Church’s VBS is “Spark Studios’ Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose.” There will be sessions for children and adults where they can have fun learning and studying God’s word, play games, make crafts and enjoy some snacks.
First Baptist Church of Maynardville, located at 730 Main Street in Maynardville, will be hosting their VBS June 5 - 9 from 6:45 to 9 p.m. All ages are welcome to enjoy the “Spark Studios’ Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose,” themed week.
Hubbs Grove Baptist Church, located at 391 Hubbs Grove Rd. in Maynardville, is also hosting a VBS June 5 - 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be classes for all ages as well as a variety of other activities surrounding the common theme of “Spark Studios’ Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose.”
Cedar Ford Baptist Church, located in Luttrell, will be hosting their VBS June 13 - 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evenings. Cedar Ford Baptist has encouraged people to “Get Filled Up with Jesus” at Cedar Ford Filling Station where they will have classes for all ages as well as crafts, music and much more.
Alder Springs Baptist Church, located on Hickory Star Road, will be hosting their VBS from June 13-17 with a theme of “Concrete and Cranes” by Lifeway Kids Worship.
Milan Baptist Church, located on Maynardville Hwy., will also be hosting a Vacation Bible School June 20 - 24 from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Milan Baptist will also be hosting a “Spark Studios’ Created in Christ, Designed for God’s Purpose,” themed week with classes for all ages.
Whether you are a member of a church within the community or not, VBS is a great way to get your child or family involved in a summertime Bible story.
