Union County Crusade for Christ

Last month, Union County children participated in the Union County Crusade for Christ. Local churches and pastors came together to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ during this three-day event presented by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
“It’s a privilege to get to work with the Area Wide Crusade,” says Josh Tharpe, FCA co-sponsor.
“Children that already participate in FCA are inspired to step out and grow in their faith while other children that attend are given the opportunity to have their spiritual needs met, whatever those may be. The 2022 Area Wide Crusade has been a very special one as we have seen an outpouring of God’s love to those who are in need.”
Many children responded for prayer and for salvation. The crusade reports that at least 88 children professed faith in Christ during the event hosted by Alder Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Jody Winstead, pastor at Milan Baptist Church, shares, “As the attendance grew each day, it became more and more clear that the children were hungry for something more in this life. Jesus said, ‘I am the bread of life.’ It was such a blessing to witness that hunger.”
First Baptist Church of Maynardville’s pastor, Rev. Corey Carroll, shared what a privilege it was for him to share the gospel message to the county’s children. “I was very humbled and thankful to be a part of this year’s Crusade.”
He shared of the great opportunity for children to learn more about Jesus Christ and the difference Jesus can make in their lives. “I believe the impact on our community is great. It is a positive one, not only for our children, but for their parents and families as well,” says Rev. Carroll.
Pastor Jimmy Davidson of Alder Springs Baptist Church gives God all the glory for the turnout of children and for their response during the crusade by sharing “What an awesome job God performed!”
