Gary Eugene Nicely-age 72 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord, Sunday evening, February 26,2023 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Taylors Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a self-employed General Contractor and a U.S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by parents, Curtis Wade Nicely, Sr. and Mollie Cash Nicely; daughter, Lindsey Rae Anderson; sisters, Peggy Earl and Mary Jessee; brother, David Nicely.

Survivors: wife of 35 years, Debbie Nicely; son, Michael Paul Harris and wife Meagan; daughters, Greta Shoope and husband Mike, Gleasha Nicely; nine grandchildren, Reece Matthew Edmondson, Isaiah Shoope, Ethan Harris, Lexie Rae Shoope, Nevaeh Harris, Olivia Roberts, Boone Harris, Brier Harris and Brynlee Harris; great-grandchild, Teagan Plamp; two sisters, Laura Jane Dean and husband James, Darlene Hamilton and husband Danny; two brothers, Curtis Wade Nicely, Jr., Greg Nicely and wife Dodie along with a several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 2,2023 with the funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. Thursday, Cooke Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jim Smith and Rev. Steve Ousley officiating with music by Andrea Elliott. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
