Betty Jo (Johnson) Frye-age 71 of Washburn passed away Saturday morning, January 30, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Central View American Christian Church. She had a passion for farming and her cattle. Preceded in death by parents, Hollis and Rachel (West) Johnson; grandson, Jason Taylor Brown; great-grandson, Brayden William Frye; son-in-law, Michael Jason Brown.

Survivors: Husband, Dennis Frye of Washburn; son, Michael (Jennifer) Frye of Washburn; daughter, Nancy Brown of New Tazewell; sister, Barbara (David) Oliver of Washburn; brother, Jackie (Brenda) Johnson of New Tazewell; grandchildren, Tyler (Celissa) Frye of Washburn; Jordan Brown of New Tazewell; Austin Frye of Washburn. Great-grandson, Braxton Wayne Frye. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 P.M. Monday, February 1, 2021 with funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jerry Epperson, Rev. Tommy Frye officiating with music by Jerry, Carolyn and Mark Epperson. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Clapp Cemetery, Washburn. Pallbearers: Tyler Frye, Austin Frye, Jordan Brown, David Johnson, Jason Oliver, Colin West. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
