Rev. John C. Strevel-age 72 of Luttrell passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 29, 2022 at his home. He was a member of New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Wolf Tree Service with 52 years of service. He is preceded in death by wife, Edna (Sissy) Strevel; son, Johnny Matthew Strevel; parents, Ralph and Hazel (Nicley) Strevel; sister, Maude Nicley; brothers, Jimmy Joe Nicley, Reo Strevel, Tom Strevel, Jake Nicley,

Survivors: daughter, Patricia Strevel; brothers, Roy Strevel, Dave Strevel, Danny Strevel; sisters, Geneva Worley, Lucy Strevel, Ruby Holland, Cricket Chamberlain, Minnie Sturgeon along with many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Knoxville and to all who helped through his sickness.

Funeral service 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Doug Munsey, Rev. Steve Tharp officiating. Interment will follow at Community Cemetery, Luttrell. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
