Community Revival Coming to Luttrell

Cedar Ford Baptist Church is big on missions, but Pastor Jeff Leach recently felt God’s call to focus on the mission field right here at home.
“The Lord just woke me up and said, ‘This year, the fish are at the dock,’” he said.
So, along with many other ministry efforts within the church, Cedar Ford is reaching across churches and denominations to help facilitate a community worship and revival, set for 7 p.m. July 30 through Aug. 1, at Luttrell Ball Park behind Luttrell Elementary School. Free food will be provided between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
Leach started reaching out to local pastors starting in January. In his letter to them, Leach wrote, “Brother, this is not a Cedar Ford Baptist Church event. It is a Kingdom of God event and my job is to serve as facilitator for the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Already six churches have joined in the effort, including Willow Springs, Open Door Outreach Ministries, Lighthouse Church, Warwicks Chapel, Fellowship Christian and Mt. Harmony. The pastors and any others who feel called to do so are meeting at the ball field each month to pray for the revival and “saturate God’s presence there,” said Leach.
“I was moved by God to unite us in Christ for a community worship here in a neutral location. It’s an opportunity for all the churches to come together and get us outside the walls of our churches. The Bible is really big on unifying the people.”
Leach said the goals for the revival are to have a great kingdom of God event, and to “reach the lost of Luttrell.”
According the Leach, the involved churches are “building it as we go,” and the response from the community has been good. “We’re going to show the love of Christ and show the strength of His Word,” he added. “We’re just the facilitators. That’s what makes it exciting. It’s out of man’s control. I’m just glad to be on board and be part of it.
“We want to show how powerful His love is. We need more Jesus in this world.”
Food each night will be provided by participating churches. Volunteers are needed for a workday Saturday, July 28, to set up the stage and chairs. Help is also needed to direct parking and assist with food on the revival days.
“Or you could just come and pray,” Leach said. “I go three to four days per week.”
Prayer meetings at the ball field are planned for 7 p.m. Thursdays, June 21 and July 26.
“I’m nervous but excited,” said Leach. “I just want to see how God is going to put things together.”
