When God Speaks

Terry Kirby

In my years as a journalist, I have had the privilege of meeting many authors. Only a few of those acknowledged God as their inspiration and as the One who impressed them to seek a specific writing goal. Dr. Terry L. Kirby is one of those few.

Kirby is an expository preacher, has been a senior pastor for almost twenty-five years and holds a doctorate in Expository Preaching from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He says the Lord gave him the idea for a different type of Bible.

“This was a five year process, but one I wanted to do,” said Kirby. “I saw this as a calling I needed to answer.”

For Kirby, following God’s leadership resulted in the creation and editing of the I AM Bible. He took the King James Version of the Bible, went through it verse by verse, and highlighted all the words spoken directly by God. Kirby then added commentary notes to provide further insight into each highlighted text. The I AM Bible contains more than 1,000 bolded passages spoken by God from Genesis to Revelation.

“The I AM Bible is a powerful Bible study tool to help readers see the self-revelation of God contained in the Holy Bible in a fresh way,” said Kirby. “I have learned so much about God through this process. My dream is that everyone would have the same experience and understanding of the greatness of God the Father in scripture.”

Kirby’s most recent title release is The Liberty Keys: God’s Instructions for Keeping America Free.

“I am a conservative, patriotic son of a veteran,” said Kirby. “I was, and still am, in the throes of concern for the future of our country. This book is a call to action for Christ followers and what we can do to keep America free.”

The author says he loves America and the book has no political agenda; however, if readers will follow the recommendations contained in The Liberty Keys, America can stay on course to remain free.

Kirby will be onsite at the upcoming Union County Heritage Festival on Oct. 6. Both the I AM Bible and The Liberty Keys will be available for sale at the event. The books are also available on Amazon and readers can follow the author on Facebook.
