Teaming to Educate for Agricultural Mastery

Everyone is invited to an upcoming Agriculture Meeting. This would apply to beef cattle and livestock farmers, urban agriculture, agriculture marketing and sales, and navigating farm assistance and grant programs. This event is completely free of charge and lunch will be provided. Be sure to register via the QR code found on either the flyer or the brochure, or call the Knox County office at 865-215-2379.
Governor Bill Lee is expected to speak. Andy Holt, Deputy Commissioner of Agriculture, Kevin Hensley, Director of Public Policy with Farm Bureau, and Sheldon Hightower, State Conversationist will be Key Note speakers.

Ag Product Marketing will explore all aspects in the provision of goods and services, including:
• On-farm sales
• Farmer’s markets
• Subscription sales

We will learn what works and doesn’t work in marketing, along with how to take advantage of marketing and sales programs.

Livestock & Forages Track will explore forage production in East Tennessee. Looking at proper management for sustainable forage stands. We will also look at animal health and proper management to control common and emerging diseases.

• Herd health

Navigating Assistance programs will explore opportunities to look for assistance. Making startup and existing farms viable for the future.
• Grants & cost shares
• Federal & state moneys
• Potential emerging opportunities

We look at this through eyes of producers and agencies that supply the support for agricultural communities.
