The non-pro t 501 C 3, Children’s Charity of Union County is underway again with our annual “Under The Tree” Toy Drive. This charity provides toys to Union County children only, ages 0-12 years and low income. Applications were sent to Union County Public Schools and returned with the children’s wishes.
The trees are up and anyone that wishes to participate, can take a green ornament off a tree and shop for a needy child in our community. Mark the barcodes out with a black marker. Place the toys in a black trash bag and return it to the business you got it from, or take it to the UC Courthouse, to the Trustee Gina Gilbert’s Of ce. Toys must be returned by Nov. 22nd so they can be processed and organized for Distribution Day, Saturday Dec. the 3rd.
Participating businesses that have trees up are: Tolliver’s Market, Commercial Bank, Okies Pharmacy, Rocky Top Market, Kelly’s Deli, Food City, Janet’s Hair, First Century Bank and Union Discount Pharmacy. We get lots of help from the UC Professional Business Association. If you’d like to donate to the toy fund, mail your checks to Union County Children’s Charity at P.O. Box 1030 Maynardville.
