Mystery Hike Revealed

On Saturday, May 13 there will be no Union County Farmers Market due to UCHS graduation. As usual, our walking program, Nourish Moves, has partnered with Preservation Union County and promised to keep everyone moving by offering a walk on that day. To celebrate National Preservation Month, we will be exploring “Farming: Past, Present and Future” with a hike at Seven Springs Farm.

Walkers will meet at the front porch of the farm store where they will be greeted by Preservation Union County volunteers and can learn more about upcoming events – including the first historic community tour coming up this fall! The volunteers are all well versed on Union County history and would love to talk and share information with you. We will also learn more about the Seven Springs farm and its’ historic past before exploring more futuristic agricultural ventures like solar energy and hydroponic growing techniques.

Join us at 11am for this fun tour! Dress appropriately for the weather – you will be on a farm and farms do get muddy. All ages are welcome, pedometers will be passed out at registration, and we’ll record your steps at the conclusion of the walk. Some folks may get in a few more steps while doing a little extra walking. Remember, incentives are a part of the Nourish Moves program and will be given out when you reach a certain number of steps and/or when you attend a certain number of markets or scheduled walks. Nourish Moves will resume at the market the following Saturday, May 20. See you on Saturday!
