Molly and the Christmas Star Part 2

“That’s it!” Molly claps her hands. “I know how to get us a new star! I’m gonna pray for one!”
“What?” Momma asks.
“Jesus had me see that falling meteor so I would pray for the miracle of us getting one. And I’m gonna start now!”
She closes her eyes and cups her hands under her chin. “Dear Jesus, please send us a new star for our manager in time for Christmas. That way people can see you. Amen.”
“Amen,” Her mother repeats behind her.
Molly did that for the next few days after she got up and before she went to bed. While there was still no new star, Molly didn’t let that bother her. She knew Jesus was going to answer her prayer.
On Christmas Eve, Molly and Jimmy help Momma sit the big table instead of the smaller one in the kitchen. This evening was just for them since they always spend Christmas day with their mamaw and papaw.
Molly climbs into her seat at the table. Then they all joins hands as Daddy blesses their meal. After they all say “Amen,” they begin to pass around the food. All except for her. In the dark sky, she notices a bright twinkling star.
“Look at the star,” Molly points toward the window. “It’s so much brighter and prettier that the others.”
They all look out the window.
“I don’t think it’s a star,” her daddy states. “It seems to be moving.”
“Another meteor?” Momma asks.
“Maybe it’s a helicopter or a small airplane,” Jimmy suggests.
“It’s not making any noise,” Daddy answers.
The twinkling light grows larger and larger in the window.
“It’s a brilliant white. Almost like lightning,” Mommas says.
“Could be ball lightning,” Jimmy adds. “Wouldn’t that’s be cool?”
“I think it’s coming this way!” Daddy exclaims.
“It’s the star I prayed for!” Molly claps her hands.
At that moment, a white light fills the room as the star streaks by their window. They hear a loud thud as the house shakes.
“It landed in the front yard.” Molly jumps out of her chair and runs out the front door with her family behind her.
“Molly, wait!” They yell.
She jerks the door open. “There it is!” Lying next to a bush is a star. She bends down next to it.
“Don’t touch that.!” Jimmy warns. “Meteors are hot dangerous!”
“Quit being silly.” Molly places her hand over it. “It’s not hot at all.” She holds out the glowing star with 5 points. “Daddy, you gonna help me get it on the pole?”
“S.s.sure.” He takes the old star off and places the white, glowing star in its place.
Molly takes Daddy’s hand. “Now everybody can see Baby Jesus. That’s good isn’t it Momma.”
“Yes, it is.” She shakes her head, “It really is a Christmas miracle,”
Momma and Jimmy join Daddy and Molly as they admire the manager scene. Soon people are standing on the sidewalk. Rabbits, squirrels and other animals that walk up and sit in from of it.
“You know, I think next year I’m gonna pray for some singing angels,” Molly says.
“How about I order them instead?” Daddys asks her.
“Okay,” Molly agrees. “This is the bestus Christmas ever!”
