Cops in Court is an advanced DUI training where officers work with prosecutors on DUI investigations and courtroom testimony. Officers were given a hypothetical case and testified under direct and cross examination. Their testimony was recorded and then critiqued by prosecutors.
Forty four (44) officers completed this training representing the following agencies: Anderson County Sheriff's Office, Campbell County Sheriff's Office, Caryville Police Department, Claiborne County Sheriff's Office, Jacksboro Police Department, Lafollette Police Department, Lincoln Memorial University Police Department, Oneida Police Department, Scott County Sheriff's Office, Tazewell Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Union County Sheriff's Office.
District Attorney General Jared Effler stated, "I greatly appreciate these officers and their agencies for their commitment to improving public safety. The knowledge gained by these officers through this training will undoubtedly allow them to serve our citizens in a more efficient and effective manner."
